Aston Villa news round-up: Emery to Saudi Arabia update drops amid Garnacho bombshell

Aston Villa will have all eyes on the upcoming summer window.

It is likely to be a busy few months for the Villans as PSR concerns look set to rear their head once the transfer market becomes available.

As a result, Monchi is going to be active and will be hopeful of building a competitive squad for his countryman Unai Emery ahead of the new campaign.

With several transfer rumours already swirling around the B6 club, Villa News rounds up all the news from 12 June.

Leeds United make approach to sign Alex Moreno from Aston Villa

As it stands, the Villans are stocked full of superb left-back options and may be keen to offload at least one of those this summer.

That has already seen Lucas Digne be linked with a departure, although it could be his Spanish counterpart who makes his way out of Bodymoor Heath.

Moreno is of interest to Leeds United, who are looking to strengthen their side ready for a return to Premier League action.

After spending the season on loan at Nottingham Forest last time out, it would make sense for the 32-year-old to complete a summer move away for the better of his career.

This has seen several clubs from LaLiga show an interest in the defender, with a fee in the region of £5million supposedly enough to tempt Villa this summer.

Manchester United ace Garnacho emerges as Aston Villa target

It appears that the Argentina international is going to be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer after a potential fallout with Ruben Amorim.

This could see the Villans replicate the move for Marcus Rashford with a summer swoop for the 20-year-old, once the window opens.

The odds of Garnacho joining Aston Villa have dropped from 10/1 to 8/1 [Unibet, 12 June], which doesn’t see the B6 club come in as favourites, but hands them an outside shout of landing the winger.

It appears that Villa’s interest in the Argentine has coincided with the bombshell news of his likely departure from Man United in the coming weeks.

Saudi Arabia express interest in Emery

The Spaniard has done an exceptional job at Villa Park, so it is little surprise when he continues to be linked to new high-profile jobs.

In the latest in a long line, Emery has been linked with a switch to the Saudi Pro League if a job becomes available in the Middle East.

Saudi Arabian news website Al-Riyadh (11 June) has revealed that no contact has been made yet, but Al-Nassr could be on the lookout shortly.

The club of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jhon Duran could be on the hunt for a new boss soon, after going without a trophy under Stefano Pioli this season.

This could see the Saudi Arabian outfit make a move for the 53-year-old in the near future, potentially mid-way through the upcoming campaign.
