‘Monchi has questions to answer at Aston Villa’ as transfer agreement edges closer
Monchi has a battle on his hands at Aston Villa this summer.
There is no doubt that the Spaniard has plenty of work to do at Villa Park within financial boundaries, which will make everything more difficult.
It appears that work is already underway, as Zepiqueno Redmond edges closer to signing for the Villans on a free transfer.
With that being said, questions will soon be asked of the President of Football Operations as the upcoming window continues to heat up.

Monchi may have let Aston Villa down
There have been a number of excellent additions since the former Sevilla chief made a move to B6 to work under Unai Emery again.
This has seen the likes of Youri Tielemans, Pau Torres and Amadou Onana come across multiple windows to help improve the squad in the Midlands.
As a result, supporters were full of excitement coming into the summer, with the hope of new signings to help add to more quality to the claret and blue outfit.
This looked set to kickstart with the signing of Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg, an 18-year-old midfielder who is seen as one of the brightest prospects in Europe.
It can’t be underestimated how happy a large number of supporters were to see such a prestigious talent rocking up at Villa Park.
Now, links to the Norway international have gone quiet, with a move to Manchester City looking seemingly likely for the teenager.
It’s been widely reported that Pep Guardiola’s side are close to an agreement with the Norwegian outfit in a record exit from the division.
With the main part of the summer window not even open yet, it already appears that Monchi has dropped the ball and let the Citizens steal a march.

Monchi fails in Nypan approach at Aston Villa
It does feel as if midfield options would be well recieved at Villa Park this summer, especially as Boubacar Kamara continues to be linked away.
As a result, signing an 18-year-old with the potential of becoming an elite talent across his career makes perfect sense in B6.
This would have seen Monchi be hailed for his work once again, as the Villans landed the signature of a star who could become a key player for the next 10-plus years.
Stat | Sverre Nypan |
Appearances | 67 |
Goals | 14 |
Assists | 8 |
That doesn’t look likely now as Nypan now looks set for a move to Manchester City before joining sister club Girona on loan next season.
It does feel as if a move to be a first-team asset under Emery could be a better career move, but the teen has decided that a bit-part role at the Etihad is the better option.
With that being said, Monchi will have questions to answer to the Villa hierarchy, who are unlikely to be impressed by missing out on the Norway ace.
