‘Nassef Sawiris to complete huge sale at Aston Villa’ amid Premier League bombshell

Aston Villa owner Nassef Sawiris could now be set to sanction a sizable deal in B6.

The Villans are set for a turbulent summer after missing out on the Champions League with a final-day defeat against Manchester United.

This is set to leave Monchi with limited means to add to the squad at Villa Park in a transfer window where improvement is going to be necessary.

With that in mind, Sawiris could be prompted to make a large-scale sale, especially after the latest update from the Premier League.

Sawiris to utilise sale to benefit Aston Villa against PSR

There is no secret that the Egyptian billionaire has a huge problem with the league’s organisers and the apparent favouritism towards the so-called “big six”.

Although there may not be any direct evidence towards this, the 64-year-old hasn’t been shy in sharing his annoyance in recent years.

This has largely been directed towards PSR, with these laws stunting the growth of sides who have newfound money to spend, like Villa and Newcastle United.

Annoyance has only been echoed by the work of Chelsea, who have sold assets like a hotel at Stamford Bridge and their women’s team for what appear to be inflated rates.

This sparked a proposal from the Premier League to put an end to this loophole, but The Times have reported (4 June) that there was not enough support, needing 14 of the 20 clubs to vote in favour to allow the rule change to be passed.

As a result, the sale of assets by Sawiris to a sister company associated with V Sports could now be utilised with the recently improved Women’s team potentially representing an ideal sale for the Egyptian.

Sawiris can now agree Aston Villa Women’s sale

If Chelsea can get away with it, then why can’t Aston Villa?

That is going to be the question of many supporters in B6, but it does feel inevitable that the claret and blue outfit could face punishment for the same action.

In a similar way that Everton were dealt two points deductions within a year, while Manchester City’s 115 charges have waited for a verdict for over 180 days.

With that being said, the sale of the Women’s team could prove to be a risk worth taking for Sawiris, given how keen he has always been to invest in the Villans.

This could give Monchi and Unai Emery a huge boost moving into the new season, with higher-quality signings potentially set to become possible.

If this deal were to go through, keeping hold of the likes of Ollie Watkins and Emi Martinez may also become easier, which can only be seen as a positive.
