Aston Villa ready to beat Tottenham to new transfer as medical booked
Aston Villa are already making significant moves in the transfer market as they aim to beat off competition from other Premier League sides for key targets.
Villa missed out on Champions League football by the narrowest of margins, but this will impact their transfer plans as they now need to outsmart the market.
Several sales may need to be made, with Youri Tielemans linked with a move away, and Unai Emery will need to recruit in the final third.
Monchi is already at work and will now hope to beat Tottenham to a potential masterstroke of a signing, while Spurs are yet to decide on the future of Ange Postecoglou.

Aston Villa interested in Pavel Sulc
Tielemans has been targeted by clubs in Saudi Arabia, and it would be a huge blow to lose him as his creativity in the middle of the park will need to be replaced.
His replacement could now be a left-field one in Viktoria Plzen midfielder Pavel Sulc, who has been outstanding in the Czech First Division.
Stat | Sulc |
Appearances | 54 |
Goals | 20 |
Assists | 15 |
Sulc has scored 20 goals and provided 15 assists in 54 games across all competitions from attacking midfield this season, and is being targeted by several clubs.
The Daily Mail (31 May, page 107) has reported in its print edition that Villa, Tottenham and Bayer Leverkusen are all interested in the 24-year-old after his stellar campaign.

Villa book medical for Zepiqueno Redmond
Villa are also on the verge of completing their first summer signing as striking sensation Zepiqueno Redmond is set to join on a free transfer from Feyenoord.
The report has also shared that a medical is ready for the 18-year-old as he prepares to complete his move to Villa Park.
Redmond is a centre-forward who has scored 16 goals in 43 games for the Feyenoord under-18s, and is regarded as a top prospect for the future, following the mould of Jhon Duran, possibly.
Getting deals done early will be of benefit to Emery, as he will aim to bed them in during pre-season, with Redmond potentially set to join the first-team squad for their tour of the USA.
