Alejandro Garnacho signs – How Aston Villa could start next season
Unai Emery could be set for a busy transfer window as he looks to improve his Aston Villa side, ready for the new season.
The Villans missed out on Champions League football on the final day with a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Although a poor refereeing decision had a telling impact for the Villans, there were a number of poor performances throughout the season that resulted in a sixth-place finish.
As a result, Emery and Monchi will likely be eyeing up a number of options ready for another run with the hope of securing a top-four finish.

Aston Villa could sign Alejandro Garnacho this summer
There has been no shortage of transfer rumours coming in and out of Villa Park ahead of the summer window’s opening date.
With that in mind, there is likely to be a number of sales which could have a telling impact on the look of the squad in B6.
This could see Emi Martinez depart after tears on the pitch against Tottenham, with the likes of Leon Bailey, Jacob Ramsey, and Lucas Digne also linked with departures of their own.
If these were to go through, signings would be needed, with Lucas Chevalier potentially an ideal option to become number one after a stellar few years at Lille.
Ahead of the Frenchman, Emery could welcome Michael Murillo in from Marseille to join Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres and Ian Maatsen and potentially replace Matty Cash.
It is the forward areas where change could be in the pipeline as a swoop for Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho could be possible this season.
After falling out with Ruben Amorim, the Argentina international could be available on a cut-price deal and represent a real coup for the Midlands outfit.
The 20-year-old could come in alongside potential record signing Joao Pedro, who could be set to make a switch from Brighton to play alongside Ollie Watkins.

Aston Villa interested in Joao Pedro
With Morgan Rogers, the Villans already have a youngster with superb potential and ability on the ball, which makes him one of the best players in B6 right now.
Keeping hold of him will be huge, especially if Pedro were to come in from Brighton and operate as a versatile forward alongside the England international striker.
Stat | Morgan Rogers | Joao Pedro |
Appearances | 54 | 30 |
Goals | 14 | 10 |
Assists | 13 | 7 |
Alongside the other signings in claret and blue, Emery could be set for another positive season with the Champions League in his eyeline.
