Jacob Ramsey sends ‘huge’ thank-you message after being told to quit Aston Villa
Jacob Ramsey could be a casualty of Aston Villa’s miserable end to the season.
The Villans failed to qualify for the Champions League after succumbing to a 2-0 loss to Manchester United (25 May).
That could have a disastrous impact on Unai Emery’s side who reportedly need to raise funds by 30 June due to Profit and Sustainability (PSR) concerns.
The 23-year-old would represent 100 per cent profit if he was sold, as he came from the academy, which would certainly help balance the books ahead of a potential summer spending spree.

Ramsey sends message after he is told to leave Aston Villa
The Villa Park star has been urged to leave by former Villan Marc Albrighton for the benefit of his own career.
Speaking on the Football Fill-In (8 April), he said: “I think he would be a better player if he were to move.
“As much as I’d love to see him stay at the club, I think he’ll always be known as the youth academy graduate. Whereas, if he goes to another club, he steps in and is a big part of their midfield.”
Ramsey has sent a thank-you message to supporters on Instagram after the conclusion of the season, saying: “A season to be proud of! Competed at the highest level across multiple competitions. Huge thank you to everyone who travelled to support us home & away.
“Villa park has been rocking this season.”
Aston Villa could sell Ramsey this summer
Emery’s side are well stocked in the attacking areas with the likes of Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins thriving in B6.
They are set to add to their ranks with Dutch youth star Zepiqueno Redmond, with a free transfer agreed for the 18-year-old and could sign Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford on permanent deals.
Ramsey had an underwhelming campaign for the Villans this season, notching just ten goal contributions in all competitions.
He has failed to impose himself on Emery’s starting line-up on a regular basis and a move could benefit both parties, especially given the PSR issues that the West Midlands club are facing as they try to compete with Europe’s elite.
Monchi and the manager will be desperate to add Champions League-level talent to the squad and they may have to sell some key assets to do so.
He has been linked with Newcastle in a swap deal for Harvey Barnes, which could be one way that they could circumvent their PSR situation to add new recruits.
It remains to be seen what happens with the England Under-21 star but it would not be a surprise to see him sacrificed in the upcoming transfer window for the greater good.
