Youri Tielemans ‘to sign improved Aston Villa deal’ as contract offer ready
Youri Tielemans is expected to sign a contract which reflects his importance at Aston Villa.
Unai Emery’s side are likely to still be reeling after their controversial 2-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on the final day of the Premier League season (25 May) saw them miss out on a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
As a result of failing to qualify for Europe’s premier competition, several key players could move on this summer, especially considering Villa’s financial troubles.
However, it looks as though perhaps the most important player of all might be convinced to remain.

And ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes Tielemans could be convinced to extend his current deal by another two years.
“I’m sure that Tielemans could be convinced to stay,” King said.
“There will be a financial boost, I’m sure of that. I’d imagine that Villa will want him to sign a contract to keep him at the club for another two years after his current deal expires. The idea at Villa will probably be that Tielemans finishes the best playing years of his life with the football club.
“I’d imagine his terms will be improved greatly if he is prepared to sign another contract. I’m sure he would be convinced to sign a deal. He seems very happy at the football club and very happy living in the area.”
Villa need to keep hold of Tielemans
Once the dust settles on what was a controversial end to a largely positive season for Villa, Emery will be keen to start planning for next year.
There could be plenty of changes this summer, with the futures of Emiliano Martínez, Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers up in the air.
However, the Villans cannot afford to lose so many key players at once. Therefore, if Tielemans is to sign a new deal, that would certainly come as a big boost.
