Monchi ready to kickstart £15m transfer talks at Aston Villa, he will be key

Aston Villa transfer chief Monchi already looks prepared for a busy summer at Bodymoor Heath.

The Villans’ president of football operations has already done positive work alongside Unai Emery in the transfer market in B6.

Last summer, Ian Maatsen and Amadou Onana were among the best players to come in and have had an impact on the side this campaign.

The Spaniard will be keen to complete business early in the window and looks set to begin negotiations over a £15million deal already.

Monchi monitoring £15m defender at Aston Villa

There has been no lack of transfer rumours already in the Midlands with two Premier League games remaining this season.

This has seen Kevin De Bruyne already be linked with a move to Villa Park among a whole host of other options.

Now it appears that defensive options are on the agenda in B6 as Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera has become a player of interest, according to Radio Marca (14 May).

The Villans are said to have a positive relationship with Carlos Corberan’s side and could strike a deal in the region of £15m for the 20-year-old this summer.

Villa are reportedly monitoring the Spaniard closely as the defender remains open to a move to the Premier League to continue his development.

Monchi could potentially be set to utilise a positive relationship with the LaLiga side to help facilitate negotiations in the summer.

Mosquera could be excellent addition for Aston Villa

The Spain under-21 international has been excellent since breaking through into the first team at the Estadio de Mestalla in 2021.

This has seen Mosquera become a regular, making 38 appearances in his last two campaigns for the Black and Whites in all competitions.

For £15m it does feel as if Villa could do much worse in the window as they look to add defensive depth to their side after a number of long-term injuries this season.

Both Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres have missed a number of games this campaign, and there is no doubt that the 20-year-old could be a useful asset in the squad.
