Kamara exit now on the cards in unexpected Aston Villa twist after contract offer

Boubacar Kamara could be approaching the end of his stay at Aston Villa this summer.

As for now, Aston Villa‘s only focus will be on securing Champions League football for the new campaign ahead of the final few games of the season.

Only then will attention turn to the summer transfer window, where Unai Emery will be looking to bolster his squad even further.

Not only will the Villans be looking to inject some fresh quality into their side, but they will also face some difficult scenarios when trying to retain the services of those currently at the club, and it may be the case with Kamara.

Aston Villa may be set to lose Kamara this summer

Kamara has been a stalwart for Villa this season, and when playing, has comfortably been one of, if not their best, players throughout the campaign.

However, that form has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs, with a report from The New York Times (8 May) stating that Villa have offered a long-term contract to the Frenchman, to try and fight off that interest.

Other clubs are said to have approached his agent over a potential deal, but Villa will want to see him stay, and securing Champions League football may be the boost they need to achieve that.

Kamara is said to be a “huge admirer” of Emery, and that is also likely to play a part in any decision on his future ahead of the summer transfer window, with a stay in the Premier League his desire.

Villa can achieve something special under Emery

Emery has already turned this side into a European competition, having taken over when they looked destined for a drop to the Championship.

However, that progress will only continue with meticulous planning and recruitment, and it is imperative that they get that right this summer.

Focus for now will be on the final few Premier League games, though work will already be underway behind the scenes at Villa Park.
