Aston Villa handed huge injury blow as ‘incredible’ star could miss rest of season

Aston Villa are suffering from several injury issues, and they have been handed another major blow.

Marcus Rashford is likely to miss the rest of his loan spell, with three games remaining in the season, and Villa are running out of options.

Aston Villa are still in the hunt for a top-five spot, which would see them qualify for the Champions League again, but this is now in jeopardy with some tough fixtures coming up.

One of Villa’s best players has now suffered a fresh injury, in a devastating revelation for Unai Emery.

Youri Tielemans picks up injury

Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans has been truly outstanding this season, but he is now unlikely to play a part for the remainder of the campaign.

David Ornstein has now revealed that Tielemans has picked up a muscle injury which could keep him sidelined long term.

Aston Villa need to find Tielemans solution

With Tielemans absent, Emery will need to find a solution to replace him in the final few games of the season, with Champions League qualification on the line.

Jacob Ramsey has predominantly played on the wing this season, but could move back into the centre in place of Tielemans as an attacking midfielder.

Marco Asensio could also be considered for a central role, while Amadou Onana and Ross Barkley are also options to play alongside Boubacar Kamara.

Tielemans will be sorely missed no matter who replaces him though, and if Villa drop points in their final three games, it may be as a result of his absence.

He was recently described as “incredible” by Joe Hart, and Tielemans is a strong candidate for Aston Villa’s player of the season award.

Let’s hope the rest of the squad can get the job done.
