Jack Grealish could be just months away from leaving Manchester City to return to Aston Villa, with one player already at Villa Park potentially set to head the other way.

It has been a largely positive season for Unai Emery’s side, who reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League and the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

However, both occasions ended in disappointment, and Villa fans will be feeling particularly low after they were thrashed 3-0 by Crystal Palace at Wembley on Saturday (26 April).

It continued to get worse for Villa after a Marcus Rashford development later on Saturday. However, a recent claim about a potential Grealish return to Villa Park could lift the mood in the West Midlands.

Morgan Rogers was disappointing for Villa in their FA Cup semi-final defeat against Palace.

However, it doesn’t take away from the fine season the 22-year-old has had under Emery. As a result, it has been suggested that City could make a lucrative offer for Rogers this summer.

And ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes Grealish will be included in a deal.

“Grealish will return to the Midlands,” King said.

“It is fine for him to be living where he is living at the moment. However, his home is the Midlands.”

“I could see him going back to Villa, if there was going to be a deal concerning Rogers, I would think he would be part of it, if Manchester City were after that kind of player.”

Based on his performance against the Eagles, many Villa supporters would likely drive Rogers to Manchester themselves. However, that is simply reactionary.

Overall, the England international has had a superb season and, at the age of 22, has plenty of potential to improve. Therefore, if Villa were to receive an offer, even one that included Grealish, they would have a decision to make.
