Rangers next manager: Ex-Aston Villa boss now favourite as odds shorten at Ibrox
Aston Villa fans could be set to see a familiar face in the dugout at Rangers as they eye a new head coach.
The Gers have been in need of a permanent manager after sacking Philippe Clement back in February after a poor run of form in the Scottish Premiership.
Barry Ferguson has come in to replace the Belgian on an interim basis and has restored some element of pride around Ibrox, but still looks destined to depart.
It could be a former Villa Park boss who could be on their way to Govan in the coming weeks as odds fell ahead of a busy summer.

Steven Gerrard emerges as Rangers favourite
There is no doubt that the Villans have struck gold with Unai Emery as the Spaniard has guided his side to the Champions League this campaign.
This comes off the back of a terrible spell in B6, where many fans became disinterested with their side as relegation became a realistic prospect.
This came under Gerrard as the former England international failed to replace Dean Smith and have any sort of positive impact.

As a result, the 44-year-old was sacked after less than a year before moving to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ettifaq, where he was also sacked.
Now, a return to Rangers could be on the cards as the Scottish Premiership giants look to return to their best for the upcoming campaign.
This has seen the Liverpool legend emerge as favourite for the job, with Odds Checker (26 April) revealing that odds have shortened to 1/4 at Ibrox.
Now Gerrard sits ahead of the likes of Sean Dyche and Jose Mourinho in the likelihood to take over, coming in at 6/1 and 9/1 respectively.

Gerrard could return to Rangers after Aston Villa flop
There were very few positives from the Englishman’s spell in charge at B6, with supporters mostly baffled as to why he was ever appointed.
The signing of Boubacar Kamara was arguably the only plus point to his career at Villa Park, as the on-pitch action was largely poor.
It was little surprise to see him be sacked, but now a return to Rangers could prove to be the best thing for his career right now.
Gerrard has also been linked with a switch to West Brom, so there is clearly a large number of options on the table moving forward.
