‘Rogers licking his lips at Aston Villa’ after what happened to PSG last time out

Morgan Rogers will be looking forward to lining up for Aston Villa against PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Villans are preparing for a trip to the French capital on 9 April in a high-pressure quarter-final clash in Europe’s elite competition.

This comes four days after Unai Emery and Co. made it seven consecutive wins in all competitions ahead of the Spaniard’s face-off against his former side.

As he has so often this season, the Villa boss will be hoping for some magic from Rogers and there is every chance that will be possible at the Parc Des Princes.

Rogers could flourish for Aston Villa v PSG

There is no doubt that the England international has been arguably the Villans’ most important player throughout the year.

His ability to get on the ball and drive forward has proven to be an invaluable asset in B6 and has made him one of the most talked-about players in the Premier League.

This was once again on show against Forest as the 22-year-old completed the most dribbles on the pitch with three while also winning the most duels with nine on top of a 71 per cent pass accuracy [FotMob].

This was all while getting on the scoresheet in a moment which ultimately helped Villa secure a huge three points.

Rogers will be keen to replicate that output in the Champions League against PSG and will be hopeful of that against Achraf Hakimi.

The Morocco international started in the Parisians’ last outing against Angers, and despite keeping a clean sheet, he was largely poor.

The 26-year-old contributed with just one tackle and another two defensive actions, which Villa could look to exploit.

Rogers will be excited to see that the former Borussia Dortmund man was dribbled past six times and lost six duels which could see the Englishman flourish.

Rogers could be the difference v PSG

The former Manchester City youngster has proven this season just how good he is and what sort of impact he can make on the biggest stage.

It won’t get much bigger than a Champions League last-eight clash against a PSG side who dumped out Premier League leaders Liverpool in the last round.

Rogers will want to prove exactly how good he is against the Ligue 1 giants as he looks to drag Villa to a positive result once again.

Alongside the likes of Ollie Watkins and Marcus Rashford, it will be interesting to see what sort of difference the forward can make.
