Fabrizio Romano: Aston Villa agree contract extension as deal completed

Aston Villa have had an excellent campaign and will be keen to tie down their best talent to new deals.

The Villans have continued to shine since the turn of the year, with their most recent victory coming against Preston North End on Sunday (30 March).

This leaves Unai Emery and Co. with an FA Cup semi-final and a Champions League quarter-final coming up while also looking to finish as high as possible in the Premier League.

Even with that being the case, looking ahead to the future is still important, which is why contracts need to be monitored heavily at Bodymoor Heath.

Aston Villa reach contract extension agreement

The hierarchy at Villa Park have been famed for their prompt nature when it comes to tabling contract offers before losing their players on free transfers.

This has seen the Villans move quickly to offer Boubacar Kamara a new deal despite still having two years remaining in the West Midlands.

One deal that has been allowed to run down this campaign is Rory Wilson, after controversy erupted earlier in season around his contract.

Villa News learned that attempts of “coercive behaviour” had failed in B6 before chiefs offered an apology at Villa Park in recent weeks.

With that being said, Fabrizio Romano has now reported (1 April) that the B6 club have finalised an extension with Wilson before his current deal expires in the summer.

An agreement is said to be in place at Bodymoor, with a deal set to be completed for the teenage striker to remain in claret and blue.

Wilson set to sign new deal at Aston Villa

It will be music to the Villa fans’ ears that one of their brightest young talents has signed a new deal to remain in the Midlands.

The Scot hasn’t featured for months due to injury but could make a return before the end of the campaign, potentially in the FA Youth Cup.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the forward is reintegrated into the Young Lions’ squad moving forward and whether he can make a first-team splash.

Emery will have one eye on Wilson moving into the new season, especially with Ollie Watkins being the only recognised senior striker available at Villa Park.
