Aston Villa ready to sell Lamare Bogarde as £4m+ transfer news emerges in Spain
Aston Villa prospect Lamare Bogarde broke into the first-team this season, but he could already be on his way out in the summer.
Bogarde joined the club from Feyenoord as a teenager in 2020, and after a loan spell at Bristol Rovers, finally made his mark on the senior side.
Unai Emery integrated the 21-year-old into the first team, where he has played as either a centre-back, right-back or a defensive midfielder.
However, Bogarde did play the full 90 minutes at centre-back as Villa were heavily beaten 4-1 by Crystal Palace, and he has not appeared since, with his future now in question.

Sevilla interested in signing Lamare Bogarde from Aston Villa
It has now been reported by Spanish outlet VAMOS MI SEVILLA that La Liga side Sevilla are keen on signing Bogarde from Villa this summer.
It is estimated that Sevilla could land the 21-year-old for less than £5m, with Bogarde out of contract at the end of next season.
Position | Appearances |
Centre-back | 7 |
Right-back | 5 |
Defensive midfield | 3 |
Bogarde could have left Villa in the January transfer window, but Emery reportedly personally intervened to block any exit, with his side short of depth in the back line.
Sevilla director Victor Orta is in contact with Villa director Monchi over a deal, and Monchi’s previous ties to the Spanish side may facilitate this move.
Villa were interested in Sevilla star Loic Bade, and perhaps this move could lead to a potential deal for the centre-back in the future.

Should Villa sell Lamare Bogarde?
Villa may need to improve their depth in the back line, but if they bring in another defender, then it seems likely that Bogarde’s exit will be sanctioned.
The Dutchman has failed to nail down a consistent starting spot despite Villa’s injuries at the back, and his potential game time looks set to decrease next season.
With a year left on his deal, if Bogarde cannot be promised regular action to sign a new contract, then the best course of action is to sell him, and both Sevilla and Ajax hold an interest in the Aston Villa youngster.
