Arda Güler ‘to join Aston Villa’ after Monchi’s admission about Real Madrid gem

Aston Villa could sign Arda Güler on loan after Monchi’s admission about the Real Madrid gem.

Unai Emery’s side have signed some wonderful players on loan recently.

Marcus Rashford is the obvious example, with the forward making the temporary switch from Manchester United to Villa Park in the winter transfer window.

However, he wasn’t the only high-profile player to join Villa on loan until the end of the season.

Marco Asensio also moved to the West Midlands, with a permanent switch from Paris Saint-Germain to Villa now on the cards.

And it looks as though Villa could once again look to sign a player on loan from one of the world’s biggest football clubs after what Monchi said about Real Madrid’s Güler.

Monchi reveals Aston Villa almost missed out on Asensio

While speaking on Radio Marca (25 March), Aston Villa chief of football operations Monchi revealed that the club almost signed Güler instead of Asensio.

In hindsight, it appears that Villa made the right move by signing the latter. However, ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – still believes Güler could move to Villa Park.

“I could see Villa signing Güler on loan, I don’t think it would be a permanent deal,” King said.

Güle has struggled to start matches for Real Madrid

“We’re talking about a young player who Real Madrid brought in. Maybe he hasn’t matured yet, or maybe he isn’t getting the chances he should be getting because it is hard to get in the first-team at Madrid.

“Therefore, if he could move on loan, that would probably be a good outcome for Villa and Real Madrid. I can’t see Madrid selling the player; he is still young, and they will want to keep hold of him.”

Aston Villa should sign Güler on loan from Real Madrid

While Güler might not have played as much football as he would have liked at Real Madrid this season, the 20-year-old’s talent is undeniable.

As a result, Villa could benefit from bringing him in on loan for a season.

The playmaker would be hungry to show his quality, and it likely wouldn’t cost much to sanction a deal. Therefore, this would be a move which makes sense for all parties involved.
