Harry Kane makes new Marcus Rashford claim after what’s happened at Aston Villa

Marcus Rashford has shown improved levels since making a loan move to Aston Villa and, as a result, has been rewarded with an England call-up.

The 27-year-old looked like a lost cause at Manchester United but Villa’s winter transfer window loan move has seen the player step up his standards back up.

Since making the move to Villa Park, Rashford has made nine appearances across all competitions, contributing four assists along the way.

Harry Kane details Rashford change at Aston Villa

There is still work to be done before you could say Rashford is back to his best, but since making the move to Villa Park, the attacking player looks a lot more confident on the pitch under Unai Emery’s management.

It looks clear that Rashford is starting to enjoy his football again and having the opportunity to compete at the top end of the Premier League as well as in the Champions League and the FA Cup, is a great motivation.

Although some felt as though a call-up to the international squad was somewhat undeserved at this stage, Tuchel is clearly impressed with what he has seen combined with his previous showings.

It seems unlikely that he will start with Morgan Rogers being eyed up to have an impact for England instead, but he could well continue to get his career back on track during the international break.

Speaking to beIN Sports (21 March), Harry Kane has said that the loan to Aston Villa is just what his international teammate needed.

“It’s great to have him back,” Kane said. “He’s obviously gone to Aston Villa, he’s had a fresh start and you can see he’s got fresh energy and even just in training he’s been fantastic so far.

“So we know what Marcus can bring and how good he can be when he’s fully flying and fully fit and that’s what he’s been showing at Aston Villa.”

Aston Villa perfect for Rashford

Emery’s management seems to have completely revitalised Rashford this season and could have saved his career with the attacking player performing at better levels.

It’s a deal that has worked for the Villans too as it gives the boss more squad depth as his side looks to juggle Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup action with plenty still to play for in each competition.

What the future holds is yet to be seen but it is extremely unlikely that Rashford will be a Red Devil next season. Villa are said to have a £40million option to purchase the player on a permanent basis but whether this will be something the club are keen to do is yet to be seen.

Either way, this move is benefiting all parties at the moment and should Villa want to make the move in the summer they will certainly feel they are in a good place to do so.
