‘Emery to be relieved at Aston Villa’ as Rogers update emerges from England

Unai Emery will be keen to welcome a fully fit Morgan Rogers back to Aston Villa after England duty.

The 22-year-old has linked up with the Three Lions for Thomas Tuchel’s first two games in charge at Wembley after taking over from Gareth Southgate.

Alongside Ezri Konsa and Marcus Rashford, the Villans star man will be hopeful of securing regular minutes for his country.

With that being said, Emery will selfishly be hoping that his players can avoid injury on international break as opposed to featuring too much.

Emery delighted as Rogers benched for England

There is more of a buzz surrounding the home of English football for the clash against Albania as the former Chelsea boss takes charge of his first match.

Looking ahead to the clash, Villa supporters may prove to be disappointed to learn that Rogers won’t be starting despite initial reports suggesting that he would.

This is likely to be disappointing for the Villa attacking midfielder who would have backed himself to feature from the outset at Wembley.

Although that may be the case, Emery will be watching from the UAE after Villa’s friendly with Al-Ain potentially happy to see Rogers on the bench.

The Villans are heading into the true business end of the season and need all their best players available and there is no doubt that the ex-Middlesbrough man is that.

No one associated with B6 wants to see the tricky attacker pick up a silly injury on international duty to ruin his chances of featuring in the final games of the campaign.

Aston Villa star Rogers misses out for England

The Englishman is set to return to club duties on 30 March with an FA Cup quarter-final clash against Preston North End.

If a win can be secured at Deepdale, Rogers could once again be playing at Wembley in a cup semi-final which will mean the world to a local lad.

It is safe to say that an England cap will also mean plenty but Emery will be putting his club side first, no doubt about that.

With Champions League commitments against PSG coming up, there is so much to play for, hopefully, he won’t let his absence under Tuchel affect him.
