Aston Villa in running to sign Middlesbrough duo in double transfer deal

Aston Villa have entered the race to beat Chelsea and Tottenham to sign a pair of teenagers from Middlesbrough.

The Villans have shown their willingness to sign youngsters on cheap deals with Yasin Ozcan being the latest example in B6.

This strategy could prove to be useful for Unai Emery’s squad in the future or even profitable to ease any potential PSR concerns that may appear again.

With that being said, bringing in a duo who are so highly rated by Premier League sides could represent yet another positive piece of business.

Josep Gombau’s Young Lions have had a positive campaign, particularly in the UEFA Youth League where they most recently beat Puskas Akademia.

There have been many star performers such as Ben Broggio and a new duo could be set to join the youth ranks at Bodymoor Heath.

The Villans are keen to bring teenage pair Anton Palmer and Bailey Palmer in from Middlesbrough, according to Graeme Bailey (16 February).

The latter has already featured in a Championship matchday squad under Michael Carrick but both twins are highly rated by multiple Premier League sides.

Chelsea have paid the closest interest in the Boro brothers but Tottenham and Brighton are also looking to persuade the duo to join them.

Aston Villa can make statement with Bailey Palmer and Anton Palmer signings

Although Villans aren’t part of the traditional “big six”, Villa Park is certainly becoming an attractive prospect for incoming players.

This was shown by the addition of Marcus Rashford in the winter transfer window who is one of the most easily recognisable players in English football.

With that being said, a move to B6 represents a step up for young players and that could be the case with the Palmer twins.

Villa could prove their standings in English football right now and send a message to their Premier League rivals if they were to bring in the pair.

It will certainly be interesting to see who they would choose to join given how much interest there is across the Premier League right now.
