Fabrizio Romano: ‘Here we go’ for last-gasp Aston Villa transfer on deadline day
Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer specialist has given his trademark “were we go” stamp on the deal which will see the France international move to Villa Park for the rest of the season.
The Villans will cover the 26-year-old’s wages while matching the loan fee that was offered by Tottenham earlier in the window.
The centre-back will move to B6 without a buy option after he refused a move to North London as he only wanted to join Villa.
Aston Villa to sign Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea
Unai Emery will have been desperate to bring a defender in before the end of the winter transfer window after Diego Carlos departed to Fenerbache.
With both Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres out injured, the need for reinforcements was paramount and now it appears Disasi will be the man to fill the void.
The ex-Monaco man hasn’t had the best spell since moving to Stamford Bridge in 2023 but with the prospect of regular minutes in B6, he could be much improved.
Despite not being a signing as exciting as Marcus Rashford or Marco Asensio, the centre-back is needed and will certainly be well-received by Emery and Co.
