Axel Disasi transfer: Aston Villa in ‘Huge’ loan update amid medical development

Aston Villa won’t be signing Axel Disasi from Chelsea due to the sizable loan fee involved, according to Charlotte Duncker.

The Times writer reported on 2 February that as it stands, the France international won’t be completing a switch to Villa Park before 3 February.

This is due to the “huge loan fee” that the Blues are demanding for the 26-year-old defender during the winter window.

The Villans do look set to complete two other loan deals before the transfer market hits its deadline with Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio currently undergoing medicals.

Despite being set to bring some attacking excellence to B6 this winter, there is plenty of holes in the defensive line right now.

This has seen Boubacar Kamara forced to operate as a centre-back alongside Ezri Konsa with both Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings ruled out through injury.

To add to this, Diego Carlos has moved on to Fenerbache and is yet to be replaced and it looked like Disasi was going to be that guy.

That appears to no longer be the case which will force Monchi and Co. into looking for new options with such little time remaining in the transfer window.

With the deadline coming on 3 February, it feels like it could be tough for a defensive option to come in at Villa Park on such short notice.
