Jhon Duran to travel to London for medical, contract in place for Aston Villa exit

Aston Villa ace Jhon Duran is set to have his medical for his Al Nassr switch in London on Thursday, according to David Ornstein.

The Athletic journalist reported via the outlet’s website (29 January) that the striker was named on the bench for the Villans’ Champions League clash against Celtic but now looks set to exit Villa Park.

The deal has already been agreed in principle with the fee somewhere in the region of £64million with a five-and-a-half-year contract lined up.

Aston Villa shouldn’t allow Jhon Duran to exit Villa Park

Aston Villa have been in impressive form this season and that’s likely down to the fact that players such as Duran and Ollie Watkins have been on top of their game.

While the Colombia international might not have had as much game time as he’d have wanted this season, it feels like he still has a lot to offer Unai Emery and his squad.

The striker is still just 21 years old and as has been shown by his performances already this season, he’s far too good of a player to waste his talents in Saudi Arabia.

However, now that he looks set to exit it seems that Watkins will once again become the main striker, that is, if he doesn’t also choose to leave for Arsenal after the offer they made for him.

Only time will tell what the future holds but, on paper, it feels like Duran is wasting his talents by moving away from Villa Park.
