Aston Villa transfer news as defender deal to be finalised

Aston Villa are finalising a move to bring Yasin Ozcan to the Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported in its print edition (24 January, page 77) that a deal to sign the 18-year-old from Kasimpasa is being finalised.

The defender has made 18 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig this term and comes to Villa Park as a highly rated youngster.

It was previously suggested that Ozcan would make the move back to Kasimpasa for the remainder of the campaign on a loan deal with the idea of the 18-year-old being a future prospect for Emery.

However, after Diego Carlos departed Villa Park for a move to Fenerbahce, Emery may feel as though he needs to keep his players in the West Midlands rather than sending them out with centre-back options needed.

The games are coming thick and fast and the Villa boss has shown before that he doesn’t mind using the young talent in his squad to get results and manager his side meaning the Turkish defender could get game time.

Whether now or down the line, Ozcan certainly seems like an exciting addition for the Villans and his manager will be keen to develop him in the correct way so he can deliver the levels expected for his side.
