Duran ‘to join Cristiano Ronaldo’ as mega-money Aston Villa news emerges
Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran could be set to link up with Jhon Duran this winter.
The Colombia international has been simply superb this campaign but that hasn’t seen his game time increase, making just four Premier League starts.
Considering the 21-year-old has netted 12 goals in all competitions so far this season, there is every chance he could want to leave before the 3 February deadline.
The striker has been linked with a switch to West Ham [David Ornstein], Arsenal and Manchester United [talkSPORT] but now Al Nassr have entered the race.
Jhon Duran could leave Aston Villa to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo
It has to be said that right now, Duran is featuring regularly under a top manager in Unai Emery while playing consistently in the Premier League and Champions League.
So would the ex-Chicago Fire youngster realistically swap that for limited minutes under Mikel Arteta or for a move to a side in the bottom half of the table, probably not.
Although these may not be able to sway the Colombian’s thinking, the chance to start alongside Ronaldo on a weekly basis could.
Al Nassr have entered the race to sign the forward who is said to be “very interested” by a move to the Saudi Arabian side [Santi Aouna].
The Portugal international joined the Pro League side in January 2023 and has gone on to make over 90 appearances and score 83 goals.
With the large wages available in the Middle East and the chance to play with a potential footballing idol, Duran could look to force a mega-money move before the end of the winter window.
