Arsenal and Manchester United have emerged in the race to sign Aston Villa star Jhon Duran after rejecting a new bid from West Ham.

According to talkSPORT [20 January], Unai Emery's team have already turned down the new offer from East London, which is understood to be in the region of £57million.

Despite this revelation, BetVictor still has the Hammers priced at 2/5 as the striker's most likely destination before the transfer window closes on 3 February.

Manchester United have been placed at 6/1 to sign Duran, with both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund struggling to impress at Old Trafford, and noises are now being made at the Emirates.

Arsenal are 8/1 to land Duran's signature, with a move to either France or Germany also emerging on the bookmakers' site as the 21-year-old attracts interest from around Europe.

Arsenal to steal Jhon Duran from Aston Villa before 3 February?

Mikel Arteta is becoming frustrated in his attempt to sign a striker before the winter transfer window closes, as per GiveMeSport, but the Gunners could finally have a solution.

While they are not the favourites to sign the young star, Arsenal's urgency to bring in support for Kai Havertz following a new injury to Gabriel Jesus makes them an ideal destination for Duran.

As a young, exciting, restless striker, Duran is not likely to want to sit on the bench while Ollie Watkins is preferred in attack, only really being able to showcase his talent in substitute appearances.

A move to London could gift him the valuable game time he is aiming for, though the Gunners will need to battle against the likes of Man United and West Ham if they are to capture his signature.

Of course, it does not seem too likely that Emery will sign off on his exit this month, not unless a new striker can be signed as a replacement.
