Sky Sports editor drops shock £55m Aston Villa transfer news
Southampton won’t entertain bids of less than £55million for Tyler Dibling amid Aston Villa interest, according to Lyall Thomas.
The Sky Sports editor reported on 22 January that the Villans are monitoring the 18-year-old alongside Chelsea and Tottenham.
The Saints are unwilling to work with any club towards a deal for any fee less than £55m during the winter transfer window.
Southampton set price tag for Tyler Dibling amid Aston Villa interest
It does come as a shock that a team that is routed to the bottom of the Premier League is demanding such a large fee for a player.
Regardless of the potential of the winger, for a team that is almost certainly going to be in the Championship next season, £55m is a wild asking price.
Given that Unai Emery’s side have just signed a Champions League finalist and Netherlands international Donyell Malen for £20m [Sky Sports], it proves just how out there the Saints’ valuation is.
With that being said, there is no chance Monchi and Co. spend the fee that Southampton want, especially in this January window.
