Wolves swoop for shock last-minute Aston Villa transfer agreement
Wolves have made a last-minute swoop for Aston Villa defender Diego Carlos, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported on 20 January that the Old Gold have swooped with a £10million bid for the Brazilian after talks stalled with Turkish side Fenerbache.
It states that the 31-year-old was expected to arrive in Istanbul on 20 January to be presented as a Fenerbache player but negotiations broke down.
The Villans are said to be waiting for Carlos’ future to be resolved before making their move for Sevilla defender Loic Bade.
Aston Villa to seal Wolves transfer agreement?
If Carlos chooses to move from Villa to their Midlands rival, it would be a shocking twist after he was so close to moving to Jose Mourinho’s side.
However, it will be an attractive option due to the promise of regular Premier League starts and the fact that he will not have to relocate to a different city let alone country.
Villa are waiting on his exit before pulling the trigger on a move for Bade, so his future must be resolved in the next few days.

If not, the Bade transfer could collapse and leave Unai Emery short at centre-back for the second half of the season as he does not seem to trust Carlos.
The former Nantes defender has featured ten times in the top-flight so far this campaign with Pau Torres and Ezri Konsa preferred over him in the heart of defence.
It makes sense for both sides to move and whilst a shock switch to Wolves may sting for supporters, if it is the quickest way to get a deal done, the Villans should do it.
