Aston Villa ‘to block Louie Barry’ exit amid Argentina transfer development

Aston Villa would be brave to sell Louie Barry if a January transfer to River Plate goes through.

The 21-year-old returned to Villa Park at the start of the winter window after scoring 15 goals in 23 appearances on loan at Stockport County.

Since making his way back to B6, it is safe to say that the Englishman is in demand, with Celtic showing an interest in his signature [Daily Mail].

Regardless of links away, the Villans may look to keep hold of the ex-Barcelona youngster after the latest outbound transfer update in B6.

Aston Villa must be careful with Louie Barry transfer amid River Plate update

Barry is yet to appear under Unai Emery since returning from his loan spell but could become useful by the end of the winter window.

This would certainly be the case if Emi Buendia were to depart after what has been a difficult season so far.

The Argentine has registered just 71 minutes in the Premier League this campaign and could look for a move away in search of regular minutes.

This could represent an attractive prospect for the attacking midfielder and given his lack of game time this season, would be difficult for Villa to turn down if the ex-Norwich man wanted the deal.

Buendia’s departure would leave a gap in the Villans’ squad which could be filled well by the versatility of Barry who would benefit from minutes in the Premier League.
