Aston Villa on verge of brand new signing, medical booked today
Aston Villa are on the verge of signing Yasin Ozcan from Kasimpasa, according to The Athletic.
The outlet reported via their website on 14 January that the centre-back will cost the Villans £5.9million (€7m) plus another £842,000 in add-ons (€1m).
He will undergo a medical with the Birmingham-based club on Tuesday (14 January) and sign a contract until 2030, but will spend the rest of the season at Kasimpasa.
Monchi genius emerges at Aston Villa as Yasin Ozcan arrives
A £5.9m signing of an 18-year-old playing for a 12th-placed team in Turkiye might not be the most exciting transfer news for football fans.
However, this acquisition could soon prove to be a masterstroke from the Aston Villa recruitment team headed by Monchi.
It is not a secret that left-footed centre-backs are viewed in high regard in football as they are often hard to come by and that is one of the top reasons why Villa may have acted swiftly to sign Ozcan.
His ability to slot in at left-back also makes him an attractive prospect.

The defender made his senior debut for Kasimpasa at the age of 16 in August 2022, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 4-0 loss against Basaksehir, and has since made 78 senior appearances for them.
Ozcan is also on the cusp of making his senior debut for Turkiye after being named on the substitutes bench for their 3-1 defeat against Montenegro in November.
