Jhon Duran transfer: Aston Villa react to mega new January bid

Aston Villa have rejected a £30million-plus bid for Jhon Duran from West Ham, according to Graeme Bailey.

The TBR Football journalist reported on 13 January that the offer submitted last week fell short of the valuation that the Villans have placed on the Colombian forward.

Despite the young star signing a new contract in October after the Irons’ interest in the summer subsided, speculation around his future at Villa Park has continued.

Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the 21-year-old attacker [Mail on Sunday] who has scored 12 goals in 26 appearances so far this season.

Aston Villa should resist Duran interest

Unai Emery’s side should resist any interest in Duran during the January transfer window as they seek to secure qualification for the Champions League.

They should not then weaken it again by selling the in-form Colombian striker who has been keeping Ollie Watkins out of the starting line-up in recent weeks.

Duran could be in line to start the clash with Everton on Wednesday (15 October) as he returns from his three-game suspension for the red card he received against Newcastle.

To let him leave now would be a mistake, he is under contract for the foreseeable future and has developed into a star this season.

Villa should keep hold of their new star and see how far he can take them with the likes of Watkins and Malen supporting him.

In other Aston Villa news, Ollie Watkins could be dropped for the Everton clash.
