Paris Saint-Germain feel they can persuade Aston Villa to sell them Jhon Duran during the January transfer window, according to the Mail on Sunday.

In the paper edition of the Mail on Sunday (12 January, page 94), it was reported that Aston Villa would seek a fee close to £80million to let the striker go.

The 21-year-old has scored 12 goals across 26 appearances in all competitions across the campaign so far.

Aston Villa need to hold on to Jhon Duran

While the striker started the season making an impact from the substitutes bench, the youngster has made light work at establishing himself as a core part of Unai Emery's line-up, making his mark on the Premier League.

With this in mind, it is no surprise to see transfer interest in the youngster during the January window, especially from top clubs elsewhere.

However, there is no pressure for the Villans to sell given the striker is on a long-term contract until 2030 and therefore, unless there was an offer so high it would be silly to refuse, they shouldn't sell at the first opportunity.

Although Emery's side sit eighth in the Premier League currently, they are just four points off the Champions League spots while also having Champions League football still to play this season.

Therefore, the West Midlands club needs to put their own ambitions above any interest from elsewhere for now and keep hold of a player who is surely only going to get better.
