Philogene passes Ipswich medical ahead of Aston Villa exit – Dharmesh Sheth
Jaden Philogene has passed a medical ahead of a move from Aston Villa to Ipswich Town, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports reporter posted on X (10 January) to reveal the latest update on Philogene’s switch to Portman Road, which will bring to an end a second spell at Villa Park lasting just six months.
Philogene’s move was said to be held up due to delays with the amount of paperwork involved, but Ipswich will hope to have him available for their next Premier League contest.
Sheth shared: “Jaden Philogene has passed his Ipswich Town medical. All parties confident his move from Aston Villa will be finalised soon.
“Slight delay due to amount of paperwork, which is now being finalised. Ipswich hope to have him available for Thursday’s game against Brighton.”

Philogene has been unable to find a long-term home in which to settle, despite exhibiting his talent wherever he has been.
It has been difficult, however, for the young winger to sustain regular game time under Unai Emery, with no goals from 11 Premier League appearances after his season of wizardry for Hull City in 2023-24.
Ipswich are pretty stocked with forward players themselves, but Philogene will be confident he can find himself higher up the pecking order than the vast majority at Portman Road.
Emery and the recruitment staff at Villa Park remain on the lookout to further strengthen the squad, with the Villans currently eighth in the Premier League – though still just four points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea – and set to advance into the Champions League knockout rounds.
Philogene bids a second farewell from Villa, having left for good in 2023 when he joined Hull – only to return as a fringe player before his imminent Ipswich transfer.
