Aston Villa to greenlight Malen deal as Dharmesh Sheth shares medical update

Aston Villa can now progress in a deal to sign Donyell Malen after the latest medical update was shared by Dharmesh Sheth.

The Villans have shown an interest in the Borussia Dortmund forward throughout the winter window [Voetbal International] and could now be set to finally sign him.

An early £14.9million offer was rejected by the Bundesliga side [David Ornstein, 2 January] but now Monchi and Co. could have more wiggle room to work with.

This comes after the Sky Sports journalist shared the latest news of a potential January departure from Villa Park.

As a result, it will come as a boost to see that Jaden Philogene has all but sealed a move to Ipswich Town.

Sheth reported to X on 10 January that the 22-year-old has passed his medical at Portman Road leaving all parties confident of finalising a deal.

The Tractor Boys have hope that the England Under-21 international will be available to feature in his first game for the newly promoted side on Thursday (16 January), against Brighton.

With this deal going through, Villa looks set to receive £22million [Fabrizio Romano] which can be put towards a deal to bring Malen in from Dortmund.

Given that the 25-year-old is a Netherlands international and has plenty of Champions League experience, it is fair to say that this represents a boost in quality.
