Leon Bailey could head for Aston Villa exit amid £24.8m transfer development

Leon Bailey could be on his way out of Aston Villa in January if a new signing comes in.

The Jamaica international is yet to score a goal this season and has only contributed with three assists, which is far from good enough given his usual standards.

With the January transfer window now open, Unai Emery could look to add some attacking reinforcements to his squad after an up-and-down campaign so far.

This could ultimately result in the exit of the 27-year-old, especially if a forward who can play on the right is to join.

There is no doubt that goals need to be shared across the team more in B6 with Jhon Duran, Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers the only players to have more than two Premier League goals.

As a result, bringing in a new forward does make sense in the winter window, especially if Bailey continues to miss-fire.

Donyell Malen could prove to be that man for Emery, with a move away from Borussia Dortmund now on the cards.

Given the financial landscape at Villa Park, an outbound transfer may be required to provide the funds and squad space for a new addition to come in.

If a suitor can be found and a fee can be agreed, it could be Bailey who makes way to allow Dortmund’s versatile forward to move to the West Midlands.
