Emi Buendia finished at Aston Villa amid loan development ahead of January
Emi Buendia could be done at Aston Villa if a loanee is recalled during the January transfer window.
The Argentine has seriously struggled for game time since returning from a long-term injury earlier in the campaign.
This has seen the 28-year-old make just two starts in the EFL Cup against Wycombe Wanderers and Crystal Palace while playing just 48 Premier League minutes.
Ahead of the winter window opening, the ex-Norwich City man could be on his way out of Villa Park, especially if one loanee returns.
Emi Buendia could be done at Aston Villa in January
It has been far from an ideal season for the diminutive attacking midfielder and that frustration has been echoed somewhat by Samuel Iling-Junior.
The England Under-21 international joined the Villans in the summer as part of the swap deal with Juventus for Douglas Luiz before being loaned to Bologna in the same window.
Since making the move to the Italian side, the versatile winger has made just five appearances in the Serie A with none of those being starts.
As a result, Villa could step in and call his loan deal short in the January window and welcome him back to B6 [Tutto Bologna Web].
Given the issues that Unai Emery’s side have lost Leon Bailey to injury for a period already this season, a fresh wide option in the squad could prove to be useful.

If the 21-year-old returns to Villa Park, Buendia could be forced out given the lack of space in the squad and his lack of game time.
This could prompt a loan move away or even a permanent move as Monchi looks to find ways to work around PSR constraints this winter.
