Jhon Duran agent ‘at work’ as PSG submit ‘monster’ offer for Aston Villa striker

Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has been on fire in recent weeks, capturing the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs as a result.

Napoli are interested in launching a January bid [via Il Mattino, 17 December] and could convince Unai Emery’s side to sell by making a “ridiculous” offer for the 21-year-old.

Meanwhile, as reported by Fichajes [21 December], Paris Saint-Germain are exploring a swap deal which would see Duran move to the Parc des Princes, while Randal Kolo Muani went the other way. According to AreaNapoli [22 December], the French giants have made a “monster” salary offer to Duran.

However, ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – doesn’t think the club should be entertaining PSG’s swap proposal.

“No deal,” King said.

“If it was Real Madrid offering Kylian Mbappe, I might have said ‘Yeah, they should take a look at that’. However, this transfer offer, no. This sounds like an agent at work here trying to generate more interest than is needed.

“As long as Duran is starting and scoring in the Premier League, other clubs are going to be interested in you, don’t worry about that. Now he just needs to prove that he is consistent in his performances. Not only by sticking the ball in the net but his overall work rate.”

Aston Villa to hold on to Jhon Duran amid interest from Napoli & PSG?

Napoli are just two points behind Serie A leaders Atalanta, while PSG boast a healthy lead at the top of Ligue 1. As a result, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Duran was to have his head turned by interest from either club.

However, the Colombian has started the last three Premier League matches ahead of Ollie Watkins. Therefore, it is clear that Unai Emery holds him in high regard.

As a result, considering he is still only 21, the striker might benefit from remaining with Villa and continuing to build his career in England and the Premier League.

In other Aston Villa news, the club have reached a January transfer agreement as a medical is booked.
