Aston Villa star Amadou Onana sends message as Dele Alli transfer news emerges

Aston Villa star Amadou Onana has sent a message after Dele Alli provided an update on his future after training with Everton.

The Belgian’s former teammate took to social media on Friday to announce that he is set to explore new adventures in 2025, having recently been linked with a move to Serie A side Como [Fabrizio Romano].

Onana and Dele joined the Toffees in the same year, back in 2022, and while the latter spent most of his time on the treatment table, the pair clearly built a relationship before the former’s move to Villa last summer.

Reacting to Alli’s Instagram post on Friday [20 December], Onana sent two praising hands emojis while Alex Iwobi and Demarai Gray sent the same.

While Onana and Dele may not have spent much time together on the pitch, there is clearly a bond between the two midfielders off of it, with many other players sending their love.

The Belgian may not have experienced the most love-filled exit from Goodison Park last summer, making a £35million move to Villa Park [BBC Sport], but he obviously still has links back there.

He made over 70 appearances for the Toffees during his short spell on Merseyside and has been an instant hit amongst the Villa fans upon making the switch to the Midlands.

Unai Emery has certainly missed the 23-year-old in midfield, having only just made his return from injury as a substitute during the recent 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

With upcoming clashes against Manchester City, Newcastle United and Brighton, Emery would love nothing more than for his star midfielder to be fully fit and ready to boss the middle of the park again.

As for Dele, all will be hoping for the absolute best when it comes to his footballing career. He has spent far too long on the sidelines, with his magic missing from the pitch over the past few seasons.

In other Aston Villa news, Unai Emery will be absolutely buzzing as a 100% Manchester City suffered an injury ahead of their Premier League clash.
