Jamie Carragher sends mesage as Aston Villa star undergoes surgery
Jamie Carragher has wished Aston Villa midfielder Missy Bo Kearns good luck after undergoing a planned operation.
The Villans confirmed on 19 December that the 23-year-old will be sidelined until mid-January after having a planned operation on her foot.
This will see the midfielder signed from Liverpool in the summer miss WSL clashes against Everton, Manchester City, Chelsea and Leicester City.
Former Reds star Carragher has reached out via X to the England Under-23 international to say: “Good luck BO.”
Missy Bo-Kearns missing until January for Aston Villa Women
The England Under-23 international has been an ever-present since completing a move to Villa Park in the summer.
Although Robert de Pauw has now departed, there is every chance that the new manager in B6 will continue to favour Bo-Kearns.
This could help form a positive midfield combination with the likes of Kenza Dali, Jordan Nobbs and Lucy Staniforth who represent quality for the Villans.
With that being said, it will represent a blow to interim boss Shaun Goater to be without the midfielder for potentially the rest of his spell in charge.
It is clear however that the club have allowed this to happen given that this operation is said to have been planned.
This could prove to be a bold move given the quality of opposition that are set to face the Villans in the coming weeks.
To be without a key player at the core of the side against title challengers like Chelsea and Manchester City could make those games even more difficult.
