Aston Villa told to pay ‘big money’ to sign Marcus Rashford as PSR claim emerges
Aston Villa would need to pay big money if they wanted to sign Manchester United wantaway Marcus Rashford.
Villa could look to offer Rashford an exit route from Old Trafford having been linked with the 27-year-old previously this season [via El Nacional, 23 October].
The forward recently dropped a bombshell after admitting to Henry Winter on Tuesday [17 December] that he is ready to quit Manchester United in search of a new challenge.
However, ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – thinks United would be looking for a big fee for Rashford to keep them in line with Profit and Sustainability Rules.
“I’d like to know how much Rashford is going to cost,” King said.
“You’re going to be talking big money here, because Manchester United are in a position where they have got to sell, and they have got to sell for big fees to even think about bringing in new players.
“Otherwise, they’re going to get themselves in trouble with PSR. Therefore, Rashford would cost Villa big money and he would be on big wages. Watch this space.”
Aston Villa to sign Manchester United star Marcus Rashford?
There have been suggestions that Unai Emery might struggle to get on with Rashford.
However, this would be a statement signing for Villa, and if they were to sign the Englishman, and Emery was able to get the best out of him, it could be game-changing.

Rashford is no doubt a talented player, it just seems as though he needs a fresh start.
Meanwhile, Villa appear to have gone a bit stale in recent months, and adding a player of Rashford’s calibre to the squad could be exactly the lift they need. Therefore, if a deal is possible in January, it might be worth Villa paying the money.
In other Aston Villa news, one young player out on loan could return to the club in January.
