Aston Villa send delegation to Spain to watch Takefuso Kubo in Europa League
Aston Villa had scouts present at the Real Sociedad game in the Europa League to watch Takefuso Kubo, according to TBR Football.
The news outlet reported [29 November] that the Villans had representatives in attendance as the Japan international scored and assisted in the Spanish outfit’s 2-0 win over Ajax on 28 November.
Apart from the 23-year-old winger, the Lions, along with Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle, had their eyes on the likes of Martin Zubimendi and the Eredivisie side’s Jorrel Hato.

Kubo has been one of the most promising prospects in La Liga over the years, developing immensely during his time with Sociedad after leaving Real Madrid.
The Japanese was also on the books of Barcelona during his academy days and it’s no surprise for those who’ve followed the forward’s career to see him flourish.
At the age of 23, the right-winger is already one of the leaders at La Real, scoring four goals in the Spanish top flight this season.
Unai Emery has Leon Bailey available to him on the right-hand side of the attack, and the Spaniard has relied on the Jamaican to provide creativity down the flank in the current campaign after the departure of Moussa Diaby.
The 27-year-old has struggled to make much of an impact, though, providing two assists in 17 appearances in all competitions.
While Bailey managed to get a few gasps from the crowd with his flicks and tricks against Juventus in the Champions League on 27 November, the attacker’s overall contribution to the match was negligent.
In recent weeks, it has felt like Emery needs to make a few changes and add freshness to his squad, but whether that will be possible with the arrival of Kubo in January remains to be seen.
