Joshua Zirkzee to Aston Villa transfer rated as Man United exit news emerges
Bryan King doesn’t think there is any chance of Aston Villa signing Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United.
The ex-Villa scout believes the forward is more likely to return to Italy than make a move to the West Midlands.
As reported by CaughtOffside [23 November], Villa are one of the teams interested in Zirkzee, who is attracting a lot of interest from around Europe amid his struggles at Manchester United.
However, King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – can’t see Unai Emery’s side making a move for the 23-year-old.
“I’d like to know which member of staff has leaked that Villa are interested in this player,” King said.
“I can’t see that happening, no chance. He won’t go to Villa, that won’t happen. If Zirkzee was Spanish I might’ve thought maybe, because of the connection with Emery.
“However, a Dutch player, struggling in the Premier League, no chance. He’s got much more chance of moving back to Italy than Villa.”
Aston Villa to miss out on Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee?
Villa fans likely have no interest in their club signing Zirkzee.
Since his move to Manchester United, the young forward has managed just one goal and two assists in 18 appearances for the club, which demonstrates that he is clearly struggling to adapt to life in England.
Therefore, there is nothing to suggest that Zirkzee would perform any better at Villa.
As a result, it would make little sense for the club to spend what would likely be a substantial fee to add the player to Emery’s squad.

And considering the calibre of some of the other attacking players linked with a potential January switch to Villa Park [via CaughtOffside, 29 October], this rumour makes even less sense.
In other Aston Villa news, the club are eyeing another transfer with concrete enquiries made.
