Jacob Ramsey concern raised at Aston Villa after latest update

Dan Bardell believes Boubacar Kamara is dealing with a strain but is growing concerned about Jacob Ramsey after suffering another injury with Aston Villa.

The duo are set to undergo a spell on the sidelines for the Villans across “the next couple of weeks” after suffering issues against Liverpool on 9 November [The Athletic].

This is yet another blow for Unai Emery to deal with after the Frenchman returned after a long-term ACL issue and Ramsey appeared to be hitting his stride.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “On Kamara, I would imagine it’s just a strain.

He hasn’t played for so long and he’s coming back in, he’s had a bit of match load and he’s picked up an injury.

Ramsey is more of a concern because it has been a year of constant setbacks with injury.

I just don’t feel we’ve seen the real Jacob Ramsey for over 12 months because of injuries. That’s becoming a problem because of the timeframe this has been happening in.

Ramsey is the one that concerns me the most at the moment.

The 23-year-old hasn’t had the best spell in terms of injuries since sustaining an issue while on international duty with England Under-21s over a year ago.

In recent weeks the attacking midfielder had looked like getting back to his best, particularly against Tottenham where he performed well despite a 4-1 defeat.

This frustration has only been echoed by Kamara, who also can’t seem to catch a break after only making a return from an eight-month absence in October.

With the depth in the squad at Villa Park this season, there is adequate cover but these injury worries will only continue to frustrate Emery as they go on.
