Ezri Konsa injury update shared for Aston Villa v Crystal Palace after England injury development

Dan Bardell has heard that Ezri Konsa and Pau Torres will be available for Aston Villa against Crystal Palace despite picking up injuries on international duty.

The Englishman hobbled off at halftime in the Three Lions’ win in Greece on Thursday (14 November) while the Spaniard suffered “muscular discomfort” before playing [SEFutbol, 13 November].

This has left many Villa fans concerned and could ultimately leave Unai Emery with limited options ahead of the Eagles’ trip to B6 on 23 November.

Despite these potential issues, Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell can see the centre-back pairing featuring in the upcoming Premier League clash.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “Konsa has come off at half time and Torres has picked up a knock it seems.

It happened for Konsa in the last England game at Wembley, he came back and played the next game for Villa so I imagine it’s just a precaution.

I don’t think Lee Carsley would have wanted to disrupt his backline because he was playing well up until that point.

If Torres and Konsa have got knocks I’d rather they didn’t play over the weekend and came back to Villa and got themselves right for the Crystal Palace game.

From what I hear, they are both going to be available for that one.

Ezri Konsa and Pau Torres fitness mooted for Aston Villa v Crystal Palace

After a run of five matches without a win for the Villans, Emery needs his best players available and starting every possible game.

There is no doubt that Konsa and Torres are up there with the most important in the squad at Villa Park given their qualities in the back line.

It is a concern that they both have suffered issues while on international duty which will be frustrating to everyone at the club considering the unimportance of their Nations League games.
