Aston Villa must ready £25million contract to finalise Jonathan David transfer

Jonathan David is demanding a £25million contract to join a new club next summer as a free agent, with Aston Villa interested in the striker, according to TuttoSport.

The news outlet reports [12 November] that the Canada international has no intention of signing a new contract at Lille, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old is on the radar of top teams like Juventus, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool and is demanding a five-year contract with a guaranteed salary of around £5million per season, with a double-digit package of commissions and signing bonuses.

Aston Villa could go for Jonatha David

Unai Emery has two brilliant forwards in Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran at his disposal, and both of them deserve to start, considering what they have achieved.

The Colombian has especially caught many people’s attention with his displays off the bench for the Villans, and it’s no surprise that top teams like Arsenal are interested in the 20-year-old [AS Colombia, 21 October].

If Duran were to leave the Lions, the club would need to sign a quality replacement for the striker.

Considering that the Colombian’s sale would arguably bring in a lot of money to Villa, David’s demands are something that could be met.

The Villans’ reputation has increased in recent seasons, and the victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League has only helped further the club’s image.

David is a top striker, and there’s no doubt that he’ll want to play in the best European competition after leaving Lille, but it remains to be seen whether the Lions will be able to entice him.
