Kadan Young to take full advantage as Unai Emery dealt new injury blow at Aston Villa

Unai Emery is set to be without talented winger Jacob Ramsey after the latest Aston Villa injury setback.

According to The Athletic [11 November], Ramsey and Boubacar Kamara are set to be sidelined for the next couple of weeks with hamstring injuries following the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday 10 November.

The 23-year-old has played an important role for Emery so far this season, starting seven Premier League and two Champions League matches, but continues to be hindered by injuries.

He missed 36 matches for club and country during the 2023/24 campaign through various injuries, suffering from a Metatarsal fracture, and foot, hamstring and toe injuries [Transfermarkt].

Now, with the academy graduate ruled out once again, albeit for a short period of time, 18-year-old Kadan Young must take full advantage of the situation to break into the first team.

Unai Emery to promote Kadan Young after new Aston Villa injury blow?

Young, who was once compared to Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe by a former youth coach [Birmingham Mail], has just two senior Villa appearances to his name, both of which have come this season.

Despite starring on the right flank throughout his youth career, Young started the 2-1 EFL Cup win over Wycombe Wanderers on the opposite side, which saw Ramsey bumped to the bench.

This is exactly why the 18-year-old can be the key to Emery’s problems on that left flank while his main left-winger remains on the sidelines with a new injury.

Of course, with clubs now entering into the international break, Ramsey has plenty of time to recover, but Emery will also be given an opportunity to work with the youngster closely.

It would certainly be a big step up for the winger, but he has shown time and time again that he has what it takes to thrive under Emery. He just needs to be given a chance.
