Chris Sutton makes Tottenham vs Aston Villa prediction – ‘I have got no doubt…’
Chris Prutton has predicted that the points will be shared when Aston Villa travel to face Tottenham on Sunday.
Unai Emery’s Villa could move up to third if they avoid defeat to Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while Tottenham could drop as low as 14th if they lose on Sunday (3 November).
Villa have an excellent opportunity to get one over on Spurs, with Son Heung-min a fitness doubt for the hosts.
Nevertheless, it will be a closely contested encounter that Sutton has predicted to end in a 2-2 draw.
In his BBC Sport predictions, Sutton said: “Spurs will dominate the ball this time too, but I have got no doubt that Villa will score because they carry such a threat and their front players will definitely have their moments in this game.
“So, there will definitely be plenty of goals… but maybe there won’t be a winner this time – Tottenham have not had a draw since the first game of the season, and I think they will get one here.”
Aston Villa have a huge opportunity to beat Tottenham
The potential absence of Son in the Spurs side would provide a massive boost for Emery’s Villa as he is arguably their key player.
A win for Villa could take them up to third, just two points from the top of the table depending on the results around them.
With Spurs failing to reach a consistent level of performance, Emery’s side has a great opportunity to pick up another three points as they continue their quest to qualify for Champions League football again.
The South Korea international has been an influential figure throughout his time at Spurs and has registered a remarkable five-goal contributions in just six league fixtures. His potential absence significantly weakens the threat that Spurs can provide teams.

Son isn’t the only potential absentee for Spurs, with Djed Spence also a doubt for the encounter.
Villa have won just one of their last four Premier League fixtures and Sunday, 3 November provides an excellent opportunity to improve on that against a weakened Tottenham side.
