Aston Villa to accept ‘Absolutely Ridiculous’ bid for Jacob Ramsey transfer
Dan Bardell isn’t worried about Aston Villa selling Jacob Ramsey unless a huge bid comes in because Unai Emery rates him so highly.
The 23-year-old is starting to look back to his best in recent weeks after struggling with injuries which saw him miss most of last season.
This hasn’t stopped him from being linked to Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle United with the upcoming summer window seen as an opportunity to cash in on the midfielder as his current contract ends in 2026 [GIVEMESPORT].
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “Villa won’t let Jacob Ramsey go, Unai Emery rates him too highly.
“He was brilliant against Fulham, I think we saw snippets of the old Jacob Ramsey that we haven’t been able to see because of injuries.
“I was really happy to see him back in the team. Villa won’t be selling him anytime soon unless an absolutely ridiculous offer was to come in.
“I’m not worried about him leaving, he’s a big part of the club and Emery’s plans moving forward.“
Unai Emery wants to keep Jacob Ramsey at Aston Villa
The Villa academy graduate has been a fan favourite ever since breaking through to the first team under Dean Smith and has plenty of unique qualities to his game.
Only Morgan Rogers can truly match his ability to drive with the ball at his feet which compliments Leon Bailey or Jaden Philogene on the opposite flank perfectly.
It could prove to be a risk to let him go, especially to a direct rival, no matter how much the fee could prove to be.
It appears that Emery could be keen to tie him down to a new contract before any more interest in Ramsey’s signature grows.
