Prince William responds after what was said in Aston Villa win v Bologna

Prince William confirmed he was watching as Aston Villa defeated Bologna 2-0 in the Champions League at Villa Park.

Ally McCoist, who was on commentary during the game on TNT Sport, asked whether the Prince of Wales was watching from home after cameras were unable to pick him up in the stadium.

However, William, often seen at Villa Park during matches, made it clear that he witnessed Unai Emery’s team beat the Serie A outfit to go top of the new Champions League format [Kensington Royal, X].

He wrote: “Of course I watching.”

Prince William will be proud of Aston Villa

Villa are flying high at the moment, and the victory over Bologna has put the club in pole position to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

The Villans have won all three of their fixtures so far in the competition, beating Young Boys and Bayern Munich before the game against Vincenzo Italiano’s team on 22 October.

Beating the Bavarians was historical, and Emi Martinez’s performance in the game proves that the Birmingham outfit have one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Emery has turned the fortunes of Villa around after taking over from Steven Gerrard, with the Lions finishing fourth in the Premier League last season after battling relegation previously.

Villa have continued their fine vein of form this season and are once again vying for a place at the top of the table.

Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Villa Park faithful have high hopes for the team and a trophy at the end of the season would be the cherry on top of the cake.

Jhon Duran was once again exceptional against Bologna, and with Ollie Watkins firing on all cylinders, Emery could do something extraordinary at the club.
