Aston Villa ready to sell Jhon Duran as price reveal emerges
Aston Villa would be open to selling Jhon Duran to Arsenal if the club matches the £75m price tag, according to AS Colombia.
The Colombian news outlet reports [Tuesday, 22 October], Arsenal and Barcelona are interested in signing the forward in the January transfer window.
Duran was the subject of intense speculation throughout the summer and has shown no signs of slowing down into the season as Aston Villa reportedly names the terms for any interested parties to pursue a deal.
Aston Villa face a tough decision on Jhon Duran’s future
The 20-year-old has established himself as the best impact substitute in football with 10 of his 14 Goals at Villa Park coming from the bench.
Duran certainly has put the summer behind him this season scoring six goals in 11 appearances across all competitions but is still firmly behind Ollie Watkins in the pecking order.
Unai Emery is blessed to have two top-quality attacking options in his ranks but with reports emerging linking Villa with a move for Bryan Mbuembo, Duran’s days at Villa Park could be numbered.
There may be no better time to cash in on the Colombian if that is the route the club decides to take as he slowly establishes himself as one of the brightest young talents in the Premier League.

Age is certainly on Duran’s side should he choose to remain at Villa Park and challenge Watkins for a starting berth but if he can’t force his way into the side after his goalscoring exploits, it’s likely, he is not viewed as his long-term successor.
European clubs will surely be knocking on Aston Villa’s door should Duran become available, however, what are the chances Emery will be able to identify a better replacement, based on his current form?
