Argentina Selection send official message to Aston Villa after what Emi Martinez did

Emi Martinez has been hailed by Argentina Selection after his penalty save as Aston Villa beat Fulham 3-1 on October 19.

Andreas Pereira stepped up at Craven Cottage to put his side ahead, but Martinez continued his fine form in these situations to push his side towards three points.

The Villans posted a video on Instagram of the critical moment [20 October], with the 32-year-old celebrating in front of the away end.

Subsequently, the Albiceleste’s official account sent a one-word message: “Inevitable”.

Emi Martinez replicates Argentina heroics at Aston Villa

Martinez has built a reputation for himself over the years with the national team, coming up clutch in penalty shoot-outs at two Copa Americas and the 2022 World Cup.

Since the goalkeeper’s move to Villa Park, he has gone on to become one of the best in the business.

Against Fulham, the 32-year-old made other important saves apart from the penalty and was resolute between the sticks.

Who could have imagined what Martinez would become after a few years back when he was being sent out on loan by Arsenal season after season?

However, the save against Pereira might not have come as a surprise for the Villa faithful, who saw the Argentine deny John Lundstram from the spot on his debut for the club against Sheffield United.

Therefore, it does feel inevitable whenever the shot-stopper is faced with such situations, and the Villans should count their blessings to have someone like him to call upon.
